Charlie Huizenga is a Research Specialist and Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at UC Berkeley. Charlie leads CBE's building quality benchmarking and occupant feedback projects.
Charlie received a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and a B.A. in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College. His research interests include building energy monitoring, design and operation of building energy systems, numerical modeling (building energy use, thermal comfort, and window optical and thermal properties), and software development. He is a co-founder and CTO of Adura Technologies, a wireless lighting controls startup that is commercializing technology originally developed at CBE. He is also co-founder of Agua Para La Vida, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to rural Central American communities in need of clean drinking water. He is a member of ASHRAE, ASES, SBSE, and AEE (Association of Energy Engineers).
