Livable Buildings Awards Finalists 2007

The top 10 buildings in terms of occupant satisfaction based on CBE's occupant survey.

CBE selected ten finalists from a pool of over 300 buildings to participate in the 2007 Livable Buildings Awards. All facilities surveyed before January 1, 2007 were eligible for the first year of the award program. The following buildings have the highest occupant satisfaction scores in CBE's entire survey database. We commend these finalists for their outstanding achievements, and thank those who participated in the awards program. The list below includes two projects selected by the jury for Honorable Mention, and excludes the winning projects.

Donald Bren Hall, University of California, Santa Barbara, Honorable Mention

Bren Hall has since won numerous awards, including the LEED Platinum certification and recognition as the greenest laboratory building in the United States. The building's narrow profile provides occupants with ample daylighting and through ventilation. The project is featured on CBE's mixed-mode website.

The William & Flora Hewlett Foundation Building, Menlo Park, CA, Honorable Mention

This foundation headquarters employs multiple innovative strategies inlcuding mixed-mode ventilation and permeable paving materials. The project is featured on CBE's mixed-mode website.
