Studying broader implications of commercial building construction and operations.

To provide useful feedback to commercial building designers and operators, CBE has conducted comprehensive case studies of noteworthy projects that utilize the full range of CBE’s research capabilities. For these detailed case studies we frequently conduct energy performance analysis, measurements of indoor conditions, and surveys of building occupants, and interviews with facilities staff. In some cases we collaborate with other researchers or professionals who evaluate workplace acoustics, landscape and water use, and the economic returns on green building investments.

Krege Foundation Complex Case Study
Analyzing performance of LEED platinum project in relation to industry design and operations standards while examining appropriateness of these criteria for high performance buildings.

The first in-depth case study was performed at the CalSTRS Headquarters in Sacramento, CA. Architecture: HOK

The Kresge Foundation complex, Troy, MI, was analyzed for performance in relation to industry standards.
